Code of Professional Ethics

A chapter -professional Ethics: Rules Applied to Practice-- in the book Trends and Issues in Instructional Design and Technology opened my mind about professional ethics.

It introduces that AECT (Association for Educational Communications and Technology) has generated ethical codes by which it expects its members to practice. The AECT code of ethics includes three sections: commitment to the individual, commitment to the society, commitment to the profession. When using technology, health and safety concerns are of importance. It is significant to make sure that all learners have a safe environment to learn. The ethical code addresses issues related to choices regarding the selection, implementation, and evaluation of technology and related educational resources.

The Association for Educational Communications and Technology is an academic and professional association that promotes educational uses of technology. Members provide leadership in the field by promoting scholarship and best practices in instructional technology. (Wikipedia)
